Kirklees Council is carrying out a review of the five parish and town councils in Kirklees. This is called a 'Community Governance Review. The review covers: Denby Dale, Holme Valley, Kirkburton, Meltham and Mirfield.
Submissions have been invited from local organisations and groups and from any members of the public who wish to give their views on whether the parish and town councils :
- reflect the identities and interests of the community in their area
- are effective
- are convenient.
Advertisements have been placed in local newspapers, on notice boards and in the libraries asking people to make a submission.
The deadline for submissions was Friday 28 November 2008.
In February 2009 Kirklees Council will publish a set of provisional options/recommendations and will seek views for a period of 12 weeks from February to May 2009.
