Meltham Town Council is the first tier of local government serving the communities of Wilshaw, Helme and Meltham.

Meltham sits within the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, in West Yorkshire. It lies in the Holme Valley, below Wessenden Moor, four and a half miles south-west of Huddersfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. You can find a map of the Town Council area here.
The Town Council is made up of 12 elected Councillors and generally meets once a month (except August) on the third Thursday every month. At its annual meeting in May each year it elects the Town Mayor of Meltham and appoints Councillors to serve on committees for the municipal year ahead.
The Town Mayor for the 23/24 municipal year is Councillor Richard Noon.

About the awardsCome and visit our lovely park with two enclosed play areas. Free parking. Take a walk around the pond and see the ducks. There is also lots of space to play and picnic.
About the parkThe Council have two allotment sites in Meltham – contact us if you are interested in a plot. A third site in Meltham is managed by the Calmlands Allotment Association.
