In October last year Meltham Town Council announced that it had agreed terms with Kirklees Council to purchase Meltham Town Hall and that if the purchase was concluded the property would not go to public auction as was originally intended. We also announced that the Town Council was exploring entering into a lease agreement which would see new investment and continued community use of this much loved Meltham public building, by a local charitable organisation. So whats been happening since then.....
In the past couple of months the Council and its partners have been working up more detailed plans for the future use of the building, obtaining the necessary surveys and working with our solicitors to draw up the necessary legal documentation to deliver this exciting project. We will post further updates on progress in the coming weeks.
