Have your say – redevelopment proposals and survey for the children’s play areas at Robert Ashton Park

Following the Ask Meltham project in 2019 many people identified RAMP as a positive asset for Meltham.  As a result the Town Council commissioned a Master Plan from Kirklees Council for  future improvements to the park.  We asked for the views of local residents, users and local businesses in early 2021 – who were invited to view the draft Master plan and complete an online questionnaire about the park.  We received a good response and decided to go ahead and  commission a topographical survey of the whole park AND more detailed design work for the redevelopment of the children’s play areas (and surrounding space  including the tennis courts) which the Town Council felt were a priority.  The Town Council have committed £100k towards the project which is being supplemented from other external funding sources.  Kirklees Council are now putting together a final draft for the redevelopment of the children’s play areas and we would like to know what you think.
