Mayor attends Saddleworth Civic Dinner

Saddleworth is now in Oldham but up to 1974 was in the West Riding of Yorkshire, but all around the area the White Rose of Yorkshire is in evidence.

In the middle of the photo is the Mayor of Oldham and to his side the Chair of Saddleworth Town Council.

The Meltham Mayoress is second on left of the front row, I am at the back with my head in front of the Chairman’s board ,besides myself Mayors and Chair Persons from Ripponden, Kirkburton and Holme Valley were present from the West Yorkshire area.

The evening was a great success and it was lovely to be reacquainted with all the local dignitaries.
