For many it was not the gift itself but the opportunity to enjoy meeting other residents at the ‘pop up’ cafe. Councillors served cups of tea and coffee to those who came along, together with mince pies and listened to any concerns that residents raised. The event was busy throughout the day and hopefully enjoyed by everyone who came along.
An enjoyable day at the over 70s Christmas event yesterday
Yesterday many Meltham residents who are over 70 came to The Carlile Institute to receive their gift of £2.50 from the Town Council - a tradition which has been going on for many years.
