The parade set off through Meltham at 10.30am accompanied by the Meltham and Meltham Mills Band. The parade was followed by a church service at St Bartholomew’s and then light refreshments in the church hall. The collection raised over £260 which will be split between the Town Mayors two chosen charities, Shelter (for the homeless) and Kirkwood Hospice.
Civic Sunday raises over £260 for charity
Meltham Town Council's Civic Sunday event on the 9 September was well attended by local civic dignitaries and representatives of community groups and organisations from across Meltham.
