The Civic Sunday event is held on the second Sunday in September each year. Town Councillors attend, along with other civic dignitaries and representatives of local organisations.The procession through Meltham centre to St. Bartholomew’s church is led by a Parade Marshall and accompanied by the Meltham and Meltham Mills Band. Representatives from the Fire Service, the Scouts and the Guides are also invited to march in the procession along with the civic invitees. The procession terminates outside St. Bartholomew’s church.

The Mayor of Meltham Town Council, Councillor David Haigh invites the community to line the streets between the Carlile Institute and St. Bartholomew's Church, to watch the Civic Sunday parade on Sunday 8th September 2024. The parade will leave Carlile Street at 10.30am.
