Crime Prevention Advice
Use a steering wheel lock. Visible security devices can deter thieves from targeting your vehicle.
If possible, park in a locked garage. If this is not available, choose a well-lit location covered by CCTV.
Keep vehicle keys away from doors and windows and consider using a Faraday pouch to prevent keyless theft.
Ensure your vehicle’s alarm and immobiliser are activated and working correctly.
Consider installing additional security such as an approved tracker or aftermarket immobiliser.
Always lock your vehicle, even when parked for short periods.
Do not leave valuables, vehicle documents or spare keys inside the vehicle.
Be vigilant and report any suspicious activity involving vehicles or individuals acting suspiciously in residential areas.
Anyone with information regarding vehicle thefts, or who observes suspicious activity, is asked to report it to the police via 101 or online. If a crime is taking place, call 999 immediately.
Please share this information with family, friends and neighbours, particularly anyone who owns a Toyota RAV4.
