Extensive essential tree works are taking place in the park in the new year - including felling some trees. The tree works have been recommended for safety reasons following an detailed inspection by a professional arboriculturist and are being carried out by a professional tree surgeon. Permission for the works has been granted by Kirklees Council as the trees in the park are protected by Tree Preservation Orders and permission must be obtained before works start. The works will mean public access to certain areas of the park will be restricted from time to time for safety reasons whilst the works are being carried out. Restrictions may include the closure of the vehicular driveway into the park.
