This includes felling some more trees. The tree works have been recommended for safety reasons following a detailed inspection by an arboricultural consultant and are being carried out by a professional tree surgeon.

The steps from the car park that had seen better days will also get a facelift replacing the risers with railway sleepers and gravel treads.
The Council are continuing to look at options for lighting in the park and we’ve already had an expert out on site to look at measures to improve the drainage in the older children’s play area. Unfortunately, the see saw in that area broke beyond repair recently and the Council decided it would not be worth replacing it until any drainage works had been completed.
Lastly, we’ve been conducting a trial over the past few months providing free duck food at the pond area and asking the public not to feed the ducks bread which is apparently bad for the ducks and bad for water quality. The trial has been a success – the pond is cleaner, and visitors love the free duck food. So, the duck food will now be a permanent feature at the park
