West Yorkshire Police attended at the scene and identified the owner of the vehicle who caused the damage.
The Town Council have been in touch with the company which owns the vehicle about damage to the Town Council owned CCTV apparatus situated on the lamppost.
However, the lamppost itself is owned by Kirklees Council. The Town Council are aware that the replacement of the decorative lamppost and what it would be replaced with, was a concern for a number of residents. Kirklees Council have confirmed to the Town Council that they will be replacing the decorative lantern on a like for like basis.
