Our Town Mayor, Cllr Richard Noon recently had the privilege of attending the opening of The Hirst Building at Greenhead College, Huddersfield where his HRH The Duke of Gloucester CVO as part of the ceremony performed the official opening.
A tour was conducted for all attendees of The Hirst building named after the Greenhead’s Alumna Professor Judy Hirst. Professor Judy Hirst was a student at Greenhead from 1988-90 whom is now a leading scientist, a Fellow of the Royal Society and has also made significant contributions to biomedical research.
The opening also coincided with the college’s celebration of its 50th Anniversary.
The Town Mayor, had discussions with several important figures at this momentous occasion and highlighted the ongoing work and developments that Meltham Town Council were currently implementing within the community.
